Kathy Witkowski owner, operational manager of “Unique” Country Catering
has been listening to the request of her customers and has expanded her
catering operation.
The new facility, Witt’s Smokehouse & Deli, houses “Unique” Country
Catering to meet the needs of her existing customers and also make it
possible to bring high quality, affordable food to the busy families of
the Effingham & surrounding areas.
“Unique” Country Catering has been in business since 1991 and for the past
17 years Witkowski has built a reputation of serving good quality food at
an affordable price. Service has always been important and she has built a
reputation on making sure of customer satisfaction.
Witkowski would like to offer the Effingham and surrounding area food
lovers a fascinating array of fresh made deli sandwiches, salads & sides,
smoked meats, fresh quality meats and even pizza!
Witkowski also has her own BBQ sauce in which she bottles and markets in
several convenience stores, meat markets & a major retail grocery chain.
This is one advantage she feels that will make her smokehouse meats a
household favorite, since many of the residents are already familiar with
her Pappy LeDeaux’s BBQ & Dipping Sauces.
Witt’s Smokehouse & Deli is approximately 5,000 square foot
and is located on Route 32/33, just 3 miles west of Effingham &
Interstate 70. The building is situated on a 1.82-acre lot connecting
with Route 32/33. The 1.82 acre lot that the building has been constructed
on will be leased from Witkowski Enterprises (of which Witkowski owns).
Hours of operation are daily 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday through
Sunday. Closed Mondays.
Witt’s Smokehouse & Deli would like to attract the busy family of today
and offer “To Go” meals & party packs as well as limited dine in/outside
facilities.
Witkowski feels the area in which she has located will support the
business she is seeking. The area has a population of over 3,400 and a
traffic count of 11,900 cars passing her location daily. One of many other supporting factors for the need of Witt’s Smokehouse
& Deli is that the closest BBQ restaurant is more than 80 miles from
Effingham.
